Inter-disciplinary research on Cape Town in relation to the dimensions of Spatial Practice and Power, 2006-2009

M.Phil Research, University of Cape Town, 2007.

The thesis investigates the relationship between power and spatial practice within a post-colonial paradigm. The agency of ‘mapping as spatial practice’ is discussed where the landscape is represented as a construct of social identity. Spatial transformation in relation to power was ‘mapped’ through different power shifts in the context of Cape Town as a colonial city.
