1995 Olympic Bid competition for a multi-purpose sports hall
winning entry
(in association with Architect Paul Holptrop)

Our aim was to design a passively ventilated and heated sports hall through the provision of well designed openings and strategically placed architectural elements. The passive heating and cooling systems proposed demonstrated how buildings can be heated during the day using solar radiation and cooled at night using passive cooling techniques. Heat and cold stores were designed to facilitate the timing of when passive heating and cooling occurred which was driven by user needs.
